I bought these gorgeous peonies almost a week ago
at the Ballard Farmers Market and they are still as
fresh and fragrant as the day they came home.
Such is the bliss of spring in Seattle,
with its mix of bright, white sun,
wind blown cloud covers and cool evenings.
Even though these flowers are still blooming,
I’m going back to the market tomorrow
to see what new delights await –
for like Monet,
I must have flowers, always and always.
